PROJECT 5

Standing Seam Metal Roofs are always viewed as being expensive compared to Shingle Roofs. Normally that is true, but if the intent is to create a structure to accommodate a shingle roof in lieu of a flat roof, Standing Seam Metal Roofs for reroofing become the shining example of best cost initiatives. Shingles typically require 16” to 24” o.c. framing supports, followed by a 5/8 deck material or some form of composite deck. This is not a requirement of metal roofs, the framing design can be on a 4’ x 4’ grid up to a 5’ x 8’ grid, depending on code, eliminating the expensive wood truss and decking for shingles. This example demonstrates how the owner was able to have the longest roof life cycle materials at the most competitive cost. The standing seam metal roof added look, longevity and the lowest maintenance cost of any other system.
